About the Journal

TAKAMBANG: Journal of Ecohumanities is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes research articles, theoretical studies, and critical reviews within the field of ecohumanities. The journal fosters interdisciplinary inquiry that bridges culture, language, literature, and the arts with issues of ecology, the environment, and sustainability, placing special emphasis on the relationship between humans and the more-than-human world. The journal’s name is derived from the Minangkabau philosophy Alam Takambang Jadi Guru (nature unfolded serves as the teacher), which positions nature as the primary source of knowledge and learning.
